GIESEMANN professional pH Test – marine

The pH value indicates the acidity (alkalinity) of the water.

The pH value is a measure of the acidic or basic character of an aqueous solution. 
The measurement of the pH value is one of the most important measurements in the aquarium. It is extremely important to compare the pH value with other measurements on other days at the same time of the day, as it fluctuates greatly throughout the day (eg. due to lighting).

The pH value in the aquarium should be kept as constant as possible. One possibility is to stabilize the KH in the range between 7-10 ° dKH. The alkalinity (KH) buffers the pH value and thus avoids strong pH fluctuations.

For a marine aquarium, a pH between 8.2 and 8.4 is optimal. The GIESEMANN pH Test has been specially developed for this measuring range in marine aquariums.
